Update on the Updates

Ok so I went back and I'm missing posted pictures from days 34-47 (Wednesday September 15th through Tuesday September 28th). I uploaded and went through my pictures by date to make sure I got pictures every day and I do! SUCCESS. You should know, however, that a lot of the pictures from my PA were of my family in the hospital (while visiting my dad) so I will not be posting those. Instead I'll be posting some others that I have taken or possibly a round of before and afters. I'm hoping to get about 7 days up tomorrow and 7 by Wednesday. Cool?

So I will totes post more photos later this evening, but I wanted to just take a few minutes to blog about my morning!

I had one of my first real photo shoots this morning and it was so much fun! I'm learning a lot more about lighting and shadows and angles and all that jazz. I'm totally getting to know my camera better, too. It's been fun the last few weeks figuring out all the manual modes, shutter speeds, apperture, ISO etc. It's also been difficult, haha. My pictures still aren't as crisp and clear as I'd like, but considering I'm only a month in...I can't imagine that I'm doing too terrible. I'll post some of my favorite pictures from this morning later today.

Now I'm off to editing! Yipee!

PAUSE

OK. I'm crazy busy. Thursday and Friday I was traveling the world (ok Huntsville) looking for costumes for a show I'm Assitatnt Directing, so while I did take pictures I haven't had time to upload them. This weekend doesn't look much more promising. Good news is, I should be able to post by Sunday so just sit tight until tomorrow and I PROMISE I'll post my pix!

I swear I have pictures...

...I've just had a friend in town, though, and it's made posting a little difficult. I DID take pictures for day 5 and 6! I promise! You can even ask The Frazz if you don't believe me.

The other issue is my internet connection. It is truly being a pain in my bum. I have had some trouble uploading my photos but I'm hoping to fix that problem tomorrow with a nice little phone call to AT&T.

In other news, I'm slowly starting to learn my way around Photoshop (and I mean slowly) so I'll try to post a few pix with some editing done with before and afters. I also got my 50mm lens (SQUEE) so I'll be able to do a little more in terms of portraits. yay!

Changes

Ok so I suck, I haven't been posting, and I'm totally not on track with my blogging ways. I've been uber busy doing all the things I have been avoiding for months (yay me!) so I haven't been keeping up with this blogging business (booooo). I'm going to work on that.

I'm also going to work on a new layout. I need something thats a little more me. I have this temporary design for right now (thank you kindly, blogger) but I may end up just writing my own html...WHOA taking a stab at that could be oh-so-fun (no, for real..I'm not even being sarcastic)

I'm hoping to be back up and running smoothly over the next week....and my blog will probably take on a new focus so be on the lookout for that! I know, I know, you're trembling with anticipation.

REALLY!? I mean REALLY? Who thought that would be a good idea? It's not even clever or funny or anything but ENTIRELY CREEPY. Fail blog says this is a WIN....I disagree.

I BOUGHT MY CAMERA

...and it was scary and exciting and nervewracking and crazy fun all at the same time. I went back and forth with Nikon vs Canon and decided that on my first DSLR adventure, I'd stick with Canon for two reasons: price, and ease of use.

And The Beat Goes On

So.... I'm going to be getting back into the swing of things with my blog. I'm still saddened by the loss of my gramma, but life must go on and she would want me to carry on with my life, with a smile on my face and love in my heart...so that is just what I'll do. 

I'll be posting some random internet crack later as per my usual Wednesday schedule, but first I'm going to blog a little bit about something new I'm going to be attempting. It's not that it's brand new per se, because it's always been a hobby. It's just something I've always been pretty good at and I am going to explore it a little more....photography.

I'm buying a new Nikon DSLR camera (and by I, I mean my husband is graciously buying it me...he spoils me so) and I'm going to try my hand at some natural light photography. If I do well enough I would hope to make it a nice part-time gig. I just think it would be something really fun to do on the side. 

I don't really have any high expectations of fame and glory, but I do think it's something I'll do pretty well. So...if you'd like to donate yourself or your child for an afternoon so I can build my portfolio a bit...I'll be happy to give you a free CD of the images I take.
